Love the Sinner, Hate the Sin?
Molly and I are doing some exercises in a relationship workbook (don't worry there's no trouble in paradise, it is more an exercise in preventative medicine) and the first question is name three people you admire and five qualities you admire about them.
This got me to thinking, is it ok to love someone's creations and not love them? Kerouac is certainly my favorite author and I may be able to find five good qualities but other than as a writer and poet I'm not going to hold him up as an example of how to be a man, live your life, treat your family, etc. Bn ex used to criticize of for reading old Jack in the first place. There's no accounting for taste and no answer, I suppose, to how and why we pick our heroes.
