Palavericious

My personal rants and raves...not to be confused with real butter.

I am often accused of being a wide-eyed dreamer, which is a very true statement. My friends and family will tell you stories about me making big plans for wild adventures from a very early age. I was always scheming to start a new business, build some wild, improbably thing. All of my plans were (are) half-assed of course. I've done more on the web than I ever expected, other than that it's pretty much been a hot-air affair.

I've been following OLN's coverage of the (mis)adventures of John Haslett, a sea-faring man with some really, really bad luck. This guy tried for years to sail a balsa raft from the west coast of South America to Hawaii to retrace a (purported?) trade route. He sunk 4 rafts in the process and never made it too far west. I'm not knocking him, he's certainly done much more than I ever have. Hopefully if I ever do attempt something even 1/2 as daring I won't have his luck.
